Eradication of Tourism-Related Child Labor in Indonesia
Working through multi-stakeholder collaboration, awareness training, and the development of local solutions
A consortium consisting of the Dutch Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators, ANVR (applicant) and Riksja Travel took the initiative to contribute to the eradication of child labour in Bali, supported by a subsidy from the Dutch government, managed by RVO: Fonds Bestrijding Kinderarbeid (FBK) (Fund Against Child Labour).
This project consists of two parts: Project A, where ECPAT Indonesia conducted a Child Labour impact assessment, and Project B, which is the intervention to support child labour eradication in the tourism sector in Bali.
AMC's Role
We are facilitating multi-stakeholder discussions for Child Labor Eradication Finance Mechanism to develop a sustainable finance and management mechanism led by Bali’s own tourism sector to address child labor.
Designing training materials tailored to key tourism actors: schools, accommodations, art studios, and spas for Awareness Raising.
Delivering these training programs directly to educational institutions and businesses and providinge continuous coaching and progress monitoring.
We are conducting assessments to identify current gaps and challenges in internship practices for the Child-Friendly Internship Program and holding workshops to create a practical Guideline for a Child-Friendly Internship Program.
