Export Pool for Solar Cooling Technology
Development in Indonesia
SOCOOL
Under the GIZ-implemented Energy Program Indonesia, the Solar Cold Chains for a Green Economy in Indonesia (SOCOOL) Project aims to create suitable technological and market framework conditions to enable a long-term reduction of CO2 emissions in Indonesia's cooling sector as part of the energy sector.
Clear contributions towards Indonesia’s Nationally Determined Contributions and renewable energy targets are also a part of the goals, along with achieving socio-economic improvements in related sectors of the economy such as the maritime sector with high demands for cold chain expansion and preservation of valuable goods.
Cold Chain Systems
This project contributes to Outputs 2 and 3. Output 2 aims to develop technology partnerships between applied research, manufacturers, operators, and trading partners to promote solar PV implementation for cold chains systems.
Meanwhile, Output 3 focuses more on promoting pilot applications by state actors and the private sector that demonstrate technologically and economically viable examples of the dissemination of solar cold chains.
